ALPHARETTA
On December 11, 1858, the town was chartered and became the county seat of Milton County. The town was renamed Alpharetta from the Greek words “alpha” meaning first and “retta” meaning town. Alpharetta served as the county seat of Milton County until the end of 1931 when Milton was merged with Fulton County.
MILTON
Milton has a population of more than 38,000 and covers 23,000 acres. It includes the northwest unincorporated island, bordered by Cherokee County to the north and west; Forsyth County to the east; Roswell city limits to the southwest (a little west of Arnold Mill Road); Alpharetta city limits to the south (roughly, Mayfield Road to Cogburn Road to Windward Parkway).

Roswell
In 1830, while on a trip to North Georgia, Roswell King passed through the area of what is now Roswell and observed the great potential for building a cotton mill along Vickery (Big) Creek. Since the land nearby was also good for plantations, his idea was to put cotton processing near cotton production. Toward the middle of the 1830s, King returned to build a mill that would soon become the largest in North Georgia – Roswell Mill.
Johns Creek
Johns Creek is the 10th largest city in Georgia with more than 80,000 residents, and a suburban municipality in metro Atlanta. The City of Johns Creek is bounded to the south by the Chattahoochee River and Gwinnett County. It is bounded on the Northeast by McGinnis Ferry Road and Forsyth County.
Duluth
Duluth is a city in Gwinnett County, Georgia, and an increasingly more affluent and developed suburb of Atlanta. Unincorporated portions of Forsyth County also have Duluth as a mailing address, though this area is outside city limits. Much of the adjacent city of Johns Creek (incorporated in 2006) uses one of the Duluth ZIP codes.
Cumming
Cumming is the county seat of Forsyth County and one of the largest Cities located in Forsyth County. Today, the city is experiencing new growth. From the Lake Lanier, Forsyth North to the new construction communities, home buyers are finding a lot of home for the money and slightly lower property taxes than the neighboring North Fulton County.
Marietta
